چکیده

The present study focuses on developing a cost function for pump-pipelines system with emitters randomly distributed along the pipelines. The objective function is based on the capital cost of the piping system, pumps and the cost of energy required to operate the system. Employing the least annual cost principle to obtain the optimal diameter of each pipe leads to a nonlinear system of equations. A solution procedure based on an iterative scheme is proposed and examined for three case studies. The first case is a three-parallel pipeline system with 12 emitters. The second case is a two-pipeline system of the actual irrigation network at King Abdulaziz University Campus, with 26 emitters. A single pipeline 5.8-km long with three draw-off points is the third case study.

Optimal Siting and Sizing of Hybrid Energy Systems (PV-WT-CHP) and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Simultaneously based on Game Theory Approach

This paper proposes a methodology for practical siting and sizing of Hybrid energy systems (HESs) consist of: wind turbine (WT), photovoltaic (PV) and combined heat and power (CHP) units. In this method, the interaction of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PIEVs) in the electric distribution system is considered. Electric Vehicle are seen to have some negative impacts on electric distribution system p...

Optimal DG Allocation and Thyristor-FCL Controlled Impedance Sizing for Smart Distribution Systems Using Genetic Algorithm

Recently, smart grids have been considered as one of the vital elements in upgrading current power systems to a system with more reliability and efficiency. Distributed generation is necessary for most of these new networks. Indeed, in all cases that DGs are used in distribution systems, protection coordination failures may occur in multiple configurations of smart grids using DGs. In different...

Optimal Placement of DGs in Distribution System including Different Load Models for Loss Reduction using Genetic Algorithm

Distributed generation (DG) sources are becoming more prominent in distribution systems due to the incremental demands for electrical energy. Locations and capacities of DG sources have great impacts on the system losses in a distribution network. This paper presents a study aimed for optimally determining the size and location of distributed generation units in distribution systems with differ...
